CA. Pawan Kumar Patodia: Flagbearer of Sports Entrepreneurship for the Chartered Accountants’ Community
Kolkata, 18th December 2023: The Eastern India Regional Council (EIRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) held its 48th Annual Regional Conference in the Science City auditorium on the 15th & 16th of December 2023, with more than 2500 registered attendees for the event. The Chartered Accountant degree, considered to be amongst the most respectable professional qualifications of the country, has given India stalwarts in multiple fields and professions, including public policy, finance, and banking. The council, EIRC, on behalf of the CA Institute, purposed to recognize the efforts and contributions of a fellow member, CA. Pawan Kumar Patodia, for his exemplary work in the field of sports entrepreneurship.
CA. Pawan Kumar Patodia, a renowned industrialist, philanthropist, and investor, based in Kolkata, is most prominently known as the Chairman & Principal Owner of Kolkata Thunderbolts, Board Member & Co-Owner of the Prime Volleyball League, Vice President of Special Olympics Bharat and President of Special Olympics Bharat West Bengal Chapter, and National Director of the Gandhi Mandela Foundation.
The President of ICAI, CA. Aniket Talati along with the EIRC council members, presented a token of appreciation to CA. Pawan Kumar Patodia after welcoming him with a thunderous introduction to the august audience. The felicitation was followed by an address by CA. Patodia, in which he motivated the members to unleash the potential the CA curriculum has inculcated in them, that shall enable them to excel in all fields.
The conference was graced with the presence of the President of ICAI, CA. Aniket Sunil Talati, Vice President of ICAI, CA. Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal, the Immediate Past President, CA. (Dr.) Debashis Mitra, and Council Members of EIRC, namely, CA. Debayan Patra (Chairman, EIRC), CA. Sanjib Sanghi (Vice-Chairman, EIRC), CA. Ravi Kumar Patwa (Immediate Past Chairman, EIRC), CA.
