CAB collaborates with ICC to nurture talents and develop Cricket economy in Bengal

Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) the governing body for cricket in  West Bengal  has signed agreement with Indian Chamber of Commerce  (ICC) to launch IPL style and format  cricket tournament  in West Bengal , called “Bengal Pro T20 League ” to nurture and develop Cricketing talents and Cricket economy in West Bengal on 9th April 2024 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Teams will be owned by franchises. 8 nos. men’s and women’s teams will take part in the inaugural edition of the tournament in mid-2024. Teams in Bengal Pro T20 League will be named after cities / districts of West Bengal.
 
The agreement was signed in presence Mr. Snehasis Ganguly, Hony. President, CAB
Mr. Anirban Aditya, Chairman, ICC National Sports Committee ,Mr. Naresh Ojha, Hony. Secretary, CAB ,Mr. Rajneesh Chopra, Co-Founder, Arivaa Sports, Mr. Avishek Mazumdar, Co-Founder, Arivaa Sports .
 
Bengal Pro T20 League  is brain child of iconic cricket administrator Shri Snehashish Ganguly. Inaugural  edition of the tournament will be in July 2024  as indicated by Snehashish Ganguly during his address. On behalf of ICC , Dr. Rajeev Singh Director General of ICC signed the agreement. Dr. Rajeev Singh in his address  indicated the tournament will develop and expand Cricket economy as well as sports economy in West Bengal.
