Case against viral IIT Baba over ganja possession, he claims it was prasad

Abhay Singh, commonly referred to as IIT Baba since gaining attention during the Maha Kumbh mela, was briefly held in Jaipur after being discovered with ganja (marijuana). A case has been filed against him as well under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Abhay Singh, a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, gained fame as “IIT Baba” at the Maha Kumbh, stating he attended in search of truth that guided him toward spiritualism. IIT Baba was apprehended after authorities were alerted to his presence in a hotel in the Riddhi Siddhi locality, where he was causing a disturbance. The police arrived at the location and found marijuana in his possession, albeit in a very small amount.
Officials stated that the police let him go after a short detention since the quantity of ganja discovered on him was within the allowed limit.
Addressing reporters following his release from custody, Singh referred to it as “prasad” and acknowledged that a case has been filed against him. IIT Baba asserted, while being interrogated by authorities, that he is an Aghori baba and admitted that he partakes, as a practice, in the use of ganja.
