Cervical Cancer Awareness, Prevention & Early Detection Observed at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee Super Speciality Hospital

Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee Super Speciality Hospital, IIT Kharagpur, organised a special programme today to mark the Cervical Cancer Elimination Day of Action. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about cervical cancer, highlight preventive measures, and emphasise the importance of early detection.
During the event, doctors delivered simple and informative presentations explaining the significance of regular screening, healthy lifestyle practices, and vaccination. Women attending the camp were provided free screening tests, reinforcing the hospital’s commitment to timely diagnosis and a future free from cervical cancer.

Senior doctors, hospital staff, and esteemed dignitaries from IIT Kharagpur actively participated in the programme, making the event impactful and collaborative.
This global initiative, led by the World Health Organization (WHO), seeks to eliminate cervical cancer and safeguard women’s health worldwide.
