CHARISTA Foundation organises National Symposium on Elder Care
New Delhi, October 11– CHARISTA Foundation, a Hyderabad based NGO, a Public Charitable Trust organised a National Symposium on Elder Psychological Care on the auspicious occasion of United Nation’s International Day of Older Persons (UNIDOP) at Constitution Club of India situated in Rafi Marg of New Delhi.
The Symposium was conducted in association with Seni brand of TZMO with support of All India Radio, AROTATVIKA, Sukhmanch Theatre, Merina Handicrafts and co-sponsored by Sky-Barge Freight Pvt Ltd.
The Symposium was graced by Ambassador Dr. Deepak Vohra as the Chief Guest and Vineet Goenka, Spokesperson BJP, Delhi as the Guest of Honour.
Each year, UN’s International Day of Older Persons (UNIDOP) is being observed on October 1.
The panellists were Anjali Gogia- Founder of Talk to Big Ears, Dr. Aman Khera-Co- Founder & Director Care4Parents, Dr. Shivani Khaitan-Founder Mudita Clinic, Prof. KM Baharul Islam-Chairman Centre for Public Policy & Govt at IIM, Kashipur & Professor at London School of Economics and Ratnajyoti Dutta, senior journalist of international repute.
The event was also attended by Dr. Patanjali Dev Nayar, Regional Adviser, Disability, Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation, WHO/SEARO and thedistinguished members of Delhi based NGO ‘Eklakshya Educational And Cultural Society’, namely Ram Byas Rai- Secretary Jayanta Mukhopadhyay- Chairman and Devendra Singh Thapa-Executive Director.
The event started with introduction of CHARISTA foundation by host Anushree Bhattacharya, a Certified NLP Master Practitioner, Coach & Public Speaker. Shilpi Das Chohan- the Founding Trustee of CHARISTA, delivered the welcome speech followed by a short speech by Ratnajyoti Dutta. Lighting of lamp by Dr. Patanjali Dev Nayyar was followed by a sweet invocation song by artist ShiuliChohan.
Ms. Alina Posluszny, Managing Director of the Lead Partner Seni by TZMO films addressed the gathering followed by screening of awarded social short ‘Poonam’. Chief Guest, Dr. Deepak Vohra highlighted —— in his speech followed by the speech by Special Guest Dr Patanjali Dev Nayyar and Guest of Honour Vinit Goenka. An impactful, vibrant NukkadNaatakwas staged by Sukhmanch Theatre on the problem of loneliness, security issues and lack of elderly physiological & psychological care.
The Panel Discussion was co-hosted by Manisha Sharma Moderator- Speaker, Life Coach, Influencer, Trainer & Transformer. All the panellists turn-wise presented their concerns and views on importance of awareness, different kinds of challenges being faced by the elderly in the Society and their probable remedies with the help of innovative technology and moral support by the Society.
An Oath was taken by all present in the event followed by the Vote of thanks by CHARISTA foundation and a light refreshment marked the end of the event.
