A strong election bugle was sounded in the conference. After the Chief Minister’s election announcement, there has been a stir in the camp of opposition groups coming for campaigning in Karimganj area of Barak Valley. This raised the stature of local BJP MP Kripanath Mallah even higher. The enthusiasm of the local workers is palpable. There is an echo in the entire Karimganj, “This time once again Modi government crosses 400!”

Lok Sabha elections which will be held in three phases in Assam and on April 26 in Karimganj, BJP’s Kripanath Mallah is a strong contender. Political excitement has increased with the announcement of Lok Sabha elections. The outgoing Lok Sabha MP from Karimganj, Assam will try his luck to become an MP for the second time. Kripanath Mallah, a three-time MLA, is an old player of politics and is considered close to Chief Minister Hemant Vishwa Sarma. He did a lot of work in the interest of Barak tea workers and farmers. Some time ago, after the suicide of a student of NIT, Silchar, he also supported the demands of punishing the culprit. Overall, Kripanath’s claim for the Karimganj Lok Sabha seat seems quite strong.

Kripanath Mallah is a political leader from Assam who represents the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). He is the incumbent Member of Parliament from Karimganj Lok Sabha constituency. He was born on October 15, 1973, in the Bidyanagar village in the Karimganj district of Assam. He completed his BSC from Karimganj College of Assam University in 1997.

He showed his commitment to community service and grassroots development by winning the Goan panchayat presidency to start his political career. His future political career was paved with this first move.

His political aspirations extended beyond the panchayat level in the community. He became a candidate for the Assam Legislative Assembly in 2011 by entering the Indian National Congress (INC) and running from the Ratabari constituency.

In the 2016 elections for the Assam Legislative Assembly, he kept his seat, thereby establishing his political influence in the area. But in 2019, he defected to the BJP and ran for the Lok Sabha from the Karimganj seat, which he won. This change indicated the shifting political climate in Assam, where the BJP has been gaining ground.
