Investigators have revealed alarming facts about the suspected murder of a 35-year-old woman by her 22-year-old boyfriend inside a paying guest (PG) hotel in Mangolpuri, outside of Delhi. Police stated on Wednesday that her body was later discovered crammed into a bed’s storage compartment. Around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, the Mangolpuri police station received a PCR call informing them that a woman’s body had been found inside a room in a building near Patthar Market. This led to the discovery of the case.

Along with his 50-year-old uncle and the uncle’s 52-year-old acquaintance, who are also Mangolpuri residents, the primary accused, who is also the woman’s purported lover, has been taken into custody.

The woman lived in Mangolpuri and was employed as a domestic helper, according to the police. Her spouse and three kids survive her. The defendant owns a poultry store close to her home. The woman met the accused at the PG on Tuesday at approximately 4:30 p.m. For roughly an hour, the two were confined to a room. The other two men were also on the premises at this time.

The 22-year-old accused had asked to use his room for a few hours in order to meet a woman, the PG owner informed authorities. The man was gone and the room was unlocked when he came back later that night. As he walked in, he saw a leg sticking out of the bed box.

He opened it and discovered the woman’s body, following which he alerted the police.

“The body bore strangulation marks and injuries on the forehead. It was sent for a post-mortem examination,” said joint commissioner of police (western range) Jatin Narwal.

According to senior police personnel, the accused later admitted to the murder, saying he did it out of rage. The woman’s refusal to engage in physical contact with the accused’s uncle and his companion led to the commission of the crime.Investigators described how the accused reportedly pinned the woman down with his hands and legs after forcing her to the ground. After smothering her with a blanket, he killed her by strangulation. The woman had “injuries to her forehead,” the police officer continued. Then, “while his uncle and the uncle’s friend remained on guard outside the room, the prime accused stuffed the body into a bed box at the PG accommodation owned by his friend.” Later, the two assisted the 22-year-old in leaving the site of the crime.  According to police, a case has been filed under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 103 (murder) and 238 (causing evidence to disappear). According to police, investigators are also looking into whether the three males harassed the woman sexually prior to the murder.
