CISCE Declares ICSE and ISC Results 2024: Notable Trends and Statistics

Today, on May 6, 2024, at 11 AM, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) announced the much-anticipated results for the ICSE Class 10 and ISC Class 12 examinations. This year, approximately 3 lakh students appeared for the exams, with both the ICSE and ISC pass percentages witnessing a slight increase compared to the previous year.
According to media reports, the pass percentage for ICSE stands at 99.47%, while for ISC, it is 98.19%. This marks a positive trend from last year, where 98.94% of ICSE students and 96.93% of ISC students cleared their respective exams. The board conducted the ISC exams from February 12 to April 3, while the ICSE Class 10 exams took place from February 21 to March 28. Students can access their results on the official websites of CISCE, cisce.org, and results.cisce.org, as well as through the DigiLocker and UMANG app platforms.
Unlike previous years, CISCE has decided not to release any merit or toppers list to mitigate unhealthy competition among students, aligning with similar decisions made by other examination boards.
Region-wise analysis reveals the dominance of the Western region in both ICSE and ISC results this year. In ICSE, the Western region achieved a pass percentage of 99.91%, while in ISC, it stood at 99.32%. This contrasts with the previous year’s performance, where the Southern region outshined others. Notably, schools in Indonesia, Singapore, and Dubai performed exceptionally well in the ICSE exams, boasting a 100% pass rate.
Gender-wise analysis in ICSE reveals that the Southern region had the highest percentage of female students passing, with 49.52% achieving success. Meanwhile, the grading system for ISC 12th ranges from 1 to 9, with grades 1 to 6 indicating a pass with credit, grades 7 and 8 signifying passing, and grade 9 indicating failure. Grades for Socially Useful Productive Work and Community Service (internally assessed) range from A to E, with grades A to D indicating a pass and grade E signifying failure.
