A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan posted at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital has been arrested on charges of sexual harassment, rape and blackmail following a complaint lodged by a woman who alleged that he exploited her after gaining her trust.

The accused, identified as Mohammad Parul Ahmed, was part of the CISF contingent deployed at RG Kar Hospital to strengthen security arrangements. According to police officials, the woman came into contact with Ahmed while visiting the hospital with a relative undergoing treatment. Investigators said the two gradually became acquainted, leading to frequent interactions between them.

The woman later approached police and alleged that Ahmed had promised to marry her and used that assurance to establish a relationship. According to her complaint, the CISF jawan allegedly took her to a hotel in the Chinar Park area, where he sexually assaulted her. She further claimed that he secretly recorded intimate videos and photographs without her knowledge.

The complaint states that the accused subsequently used the recordings to threaten and blackmail her, forcing her into continued contact against her wishes. After receiving the complaint, police launched an investigation and detained Ahmed before formally arresting him. Officers have collected evidence from multiple locations connected to the case and sent relevant materials for forensic examination.

The CISF responded swiftly after being informed about the allegations. Senior officials said the force follows a strict zero-tolerance policy toward misconduct and immediately initiated departmental action against the accused. Following a preliminary inquiry, Ahmed was dismissed from service.
