CM Of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot Gets Ready For An Early Budget

The chief minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, has ordered that the state assembly’s budget session be held in January rather than February as is customary. This is thought to be an attempt to prevent any change of power before the assembly elections.

A top-level shake-up is unlikely while the parliament is in session, and the budget will provide the chief minister with an opportunity to reveal voter-attraction initiatives. The session is anticipated to expire in March, and elections for the assembly are scheduled for December 2023.

His most recent action aims to accomplish two goals at once. There would be little prospect for a top-level change while the assembly is in session. The party would not risk taking any hasty action at that point if the session ends in March because there won’t be much time left before the assembly elections, which are scheduled for December 2023.

Second, an early budget will give the CM the chance to introduce brand-new populist initiatives and put some of them into action to win over voters.

After the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra passed through the state, there was recently renewed talk about the possibility of a change in power. However, cunning Gehlot foresaw this and attacked Sachin Pilot head-on a few days prior, reminding the party leadership of his rebellion and making it abundantly clear that having Pilot in charge was in no way acceptable to him.

Given Gehlot’s track record and the unfavorable electoral results during his first two terms, Congress is allegedly hesitant to participate in elections under his leadership. A youthful, energetic, and well-liked candidate like Pilot, in the opinion of many in the party, maybe the greatest option and might help break the five-year trend of changing governments.

The Gehlot camp, meanwhile, is optimistic about winning re-election and touts his administration’s welfare programs as the “Rajasthan model,” deserving of replication across the nation.
