Concerns concerning food establishment hygiene have been raised by an event that occurred recently at L’Opéra’s Khan Market location in Delhi. On October 4, a patron placed an order for a salted caramel coffee and an iced latte to-go, but their encounter took an unsettling turn. When they went to enjoy the beverages in their car, they saw a cockroach swimming in the iced latte.
“WaltzSimple6037,” a Reddit member, uncovered a concerning finding. They initially believed the thing floating in their beverage to be a coffee bean. However, upon closer examination, they discovered that it was, in fact, a dead cockroach. Terrified, the client came back to the café right away to show the employees what they had discovered.
The consumer thought the staff’s apology was way too casual, even if they did provide one. They said, “I’m seriously doubting how clean this place is now.” They said, “They were so nonchalant and just kept saying sorry like robots, no real concern at all,” clearly frustrated by the lack of true concern.
Redditor raised concerns about a troubling experience at a cafe, asking, “Anyone else had similar issues here or at other cafes?” The post sparked a lively discussion, with many users chiming in. One commenter said, “This is absolutely unacceptable for any establishment, let alone one that’s reputed.” Another added, “That’s what happen when anybody gets licences , no surprise inspection or any sort of inspection, food industry is joke in India!!”
Some approached the matter with a lighter tone. “It’s not a bug, it’s a feature,” one person laughed, while another made the astute observation, “Cockroast coffee.” “That’s the secret ingredient,” a third person said.
