Amid the Congress’ objection to the breakup of various districts and divisions formed while it was in power in the state, Rajasthan BJP president Madan Rathore stated on Monday that the present administration has not discontinued any previous government’s welfare schemes. Rathore stated that if the Congress created a system just for the sake of garnering praise, it must be reconsidered.
The BJP representative stated that the former Ashok Gehlot administration stalled an important project, such as the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project ERCP, for five years. However, after coming to power, the BJP government initially worked on the ERCP project, and after signing an MoU, the contract process began.
“The BJP government has not stopped any public welfare scheme of the previous Congress government, but if the Congress made a scheme only to get applause, then it is bound to be reviewed,” he said. The BJP government’s public welfare effort in a single year is invisible to the Congress, which has always generated confusion, sometimes in the name of the Constitution and sometimes in the name of EVMs, Rathore stated. On Monday, the Congress staged a public gathering in Banswara to oppose the Bhajanlal Sharma government’s decision to dissolve the Banswara division.
Congress state head Govind Singh Dotasara announced that a “streets to assembly” action will be organized in protest of the state government’s intention to disband districts and divisions.Tikaram Jully, the Leader of the Opposition, said that the BJP administration stole “gifts” granted by the Congress government to the people of Rajasthan.
