Golf Green police detained a couple from Garia on December 23 after they allegedly set up a dating app and used sextortion to lure young guys into their web. The victims were enticed to Ratna Dey’s house by the couple, Ratna Dey (32) and Kuntal Dey (34). Ratna then requested money from the potential victims through her husband after filming the women she had recruited and herself.
Police reported that a complainant from Aurobinda Nagar, Golf Green, stated he had consensual physical contact with a woman he met through an app who was accompanied by Ratna. He claimed that Ratna reportedly used covert cameras to record them. Ratna yelled threats at the complainant and promised that the video would go viral on social media. She immediately threatened him and demanded Rs 17,000. According to sources, the two accused allegedly utilized this method to extort money from a number of different individuals.
