Dharmendra Pradhan’s father, former Union minister Debendra Pradhan, passes away at the age of 84.

Officials reported that veteran BJP leader Debendra Pradhan, a minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee administration, passed away on Monday. He was 84 and is survived by his son, Dharmendra Pradhan, who serves as the Union education minister.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored the former Union Minister with his final tributes. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi remarked that he was a well-liked public figure and a competent parliamentarian.
Majhi stated that the nation and the state lost an eminent public official.
“He had discharged his duties as the Union Minister for Transport and Agriculture from 1999 to 2001 with efficiency. As a public representative and MP, he had become the object of the common people’s affection by doing many welfare works,” Majhi said.

“He dedicated his entire life for the development of the state with a spirit of service and determination,” he added.
The CM additionally communicated with his son and conveyed his sympathies. Naveen Patnaik, the Leader of Opposition in the state assembly, remarked that Pradhan will be remembered for his exceptional organizational abilities and steadfast character.
“The state has lost an influential political figure and popular politician in the demise of Dr Pradhan,” he said.
