Famous film producer Ektaa Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor are the targets of a formal complaint filed by the police. They have been the subject of a POCSO Act complaint. ‘Gandi Baat’, Ektaa’s popular serial, has caused her to get into problems. Six seasons of this contentious web series have been released thus far, and there have been repeated calls for its prohibition. The OTT platform Alt Balaji’s web series ‘Gandi Baat’ had explicit scenes of young girls in an episode, which has put Ektaa Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor in legal hot water once again.
Sections 295-A of the IPC, the IT Act, and sections 13 and 15 of the POCSO Act have been used to file a case against Ekta Kapoor of Alt Balaji Telefilm Limited and her mother Shobha Kapoor at the MHB police station in Mumbai for displaying explicit images of young girls in an episode of the OTT platform Alt Balaji’s web series “Gandi Baat.” Unfortunately, this app does not presently broadcast this contentious episode.
Additionally, the complainant claims that they displayed scenes of drinking and smoking cigarettes without providing a disclaimer. Section 13 of the Child Protection Act, Section 15 of the Sexual Exploitation of Minors Act, Information Technology Act, 2000-67 (A), Section 295 (A) of the BNS, and other provisions are currently being used by the police to register a case.
