Emiliano Martinez Of Argentina Has Been Accused Of Harassing Kylian Mbappe
France has filed a formal complaint against Emiliano Martinez of Argentina for severely harassing Kylian Mbappe following the final between France and Argentina.
Martinez’s activities have gone too far, according to a written letter of complaint from French FA President Noel Le Great.
The vulgar taunting of France forwards Kylian Mbappe by some Argentina fans in Buenos Aires as they celebrated the homecoming of the World Cup winners was denounced by Amelie Oudea-Castera, France’s minister of sports, who also stated she may contact her Argentine colleague.
During Argentina’s trophy procession, Emiliano Martinez made fun of Kylian Mbappe by holding a baby doll with the French star’s face on it.
To make matters worse, Martinez actually raised the Mbappe doll while standing close to the 24-year-old PSG player Lionel Messi as the two enjoyed Argentina’s victory over France in the penalty shootout.
The Argentina players danced around the locker room earlier in the celebration following their victory while simultaneously chanting a minute’s silence, creating a pause in which goalkeeper Martinez yelled, “For Mbappe who is dead!”
Martinez and Mbappé have been at odds since before the World Cup even started. Mbappé claimed that because European football is of a greater caliber than football played in other parts of the world, European teams had an advantage over other teams during the World Cup.
Martinez’s celebrations following his Golden Glove victory also generated controversy.
