Ex-Karnataka top cop was having lunch when wife stabbed him: Sources

The late Om Prakash, who was formerly the Director General of Police (DGP) in Karnataka, was stabbed at the dining table while eating lunch. As reported, while Om Prakash was eating with two kinds of fish on his plate, his wife Pallavi supposedly started a dispute and abruptly plunged a knife into him.

Sources reported that a lunch plate was found close to his body. At the crime scene, authorities found two knives and a shattered bottle thought to have been utilized in the homicide. Authorities believe that both Pallavi and Kriti could have participated in the murder. After the assault, the pair reportedly covered Om Prakash’s body with a bedsheet. According to sources, the mother and daughter subsequently shut themselves in a room.

Later, Pallavi allegedly contacted the police and reported the murder. She subsequently allegedly gave herself up and admitted to the offense. When the police initially got to the location, the daughter, Kriti, declined to come out and allegedly secured the door.

She ignored the police’s calls; ultimately, the police forced the door open and apprehended Kriti. The authorities also seized the mobile phones of the deceased and the two suspects.

At the same time, the police gathered statements from three persons regarding the case. Sources familiar with the inquiry reported that during the argument on Sunday, Om Prakash was the first to act violently and threatened her again with the gun, prompting her to stab him with a knife, as Pallavi reportedly told the police following the incident.

She delivered her statement in front of the Madiwala Assistant Commissioner of Police. Nevertheless, sources disclosed that Om Prakash allegedly shared with senior police officials several times that he could not endure the abuse from his wife.
