The Mumbai Police Crime Branch has made progress in the case related to the firing incident outside the residence of Bollywood actor Salman Khan by arresting the fifth suspect, Mohammad Chaudhary, in Rajasthan.
Chaudhary’s apprehension marks another significant development in the investigation into the shooting incident. Authorities revealed that Chaudhary allegedly provided financial support to the two shooters, Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta, and instructed them to conduct a reconnaissance mission around Salman Khan’s residence, Galaxy Apartments, located in Mumbai’s Bandra area.
Following Chaudhary’s arrest, the Mumbai Police Crime Branch is taking necessary steps to bring him to Mumbai promptly. He is scheduled to be presented before the court later today, where the police will request custody for further interrogation.
Previously, Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta were apprehended from Bhuj in Gujarat by the Mumbai Police, shedding light on the orchestrated plot behind the shooting incident. Additionally, two other suspects, Sonu Subhash Chander and Anuj Thapan, were taken into custody late last month as part of the ongoing investigation.
However, a tragic turn of events occurred on May 1 when Anuj Thapan, one of the detained individuals, attempted suicide while in police custody. Despite immediate medical attention at Mumbai’s GT Hospital, Thapan’s condition deteriorated rapidly, leading to his unfortunate demise.
The shooting incident outside Salman Khan’s residence took place on April 14, perpetrated by two assailants on a motorcycle who fired four rounds before fleeing the scene. It is reported that Salman Khan was present at his residence during the time of the attack, underscoring the severity and potential danger of the situation.
