Ghulam Rabbani, Cabinet Minister of West Bengal was the Chief Guest of “Dhwani” at Kala Mandir

Kolkata: Delhi’s famous dance repertory Dhwani organised a colourful evening of Kathak dance and Baul songs at the famous Kalamandir auditorium recently. Performers were renowned Kathak dancer Vaswati Misra and Parvathy Baul. Both enthralled everyone in the evening. After a long time, the director of Delhi’s Dhwani dance troupe Vaswati Misra performed a mind-blowing solo dance in the cultural capital of the country. Renowned artiste Parvathy Baul also enthralled the audience with her popular songs at the programme.

Ghulam Rabbani, Cabinet Minister of West Bengal, was the Chief Guest at Friday’s event. Ratnajyoti Dutta, a renowned international journalist and Honorary National Adviser of Dhwani, welcomed the Chief Guest at the programme. Rabbani is the minister in-charge of minority affairs and madrasah education in Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s cabinet welcomed Parvathy Baul for the show .

Rabbani praised nationally acclaimed dancer Vaswati Misra’s dedication to promote the Kathak dance form among the new generation. Kathak dance lovers got an unique opportunity in the cultural capital of the country to watch a wonderful blend of Kathak dance and Baul songs at the event.
