Hindi Tweet By Rishi Sunak After Meeting PM Modi At The G20 Summit
On November 16, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak posted a photo of him and his Indian counterpart Narendra after their first encounter at the G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia. It’s interesting that Sunak, a politician of Indian descent, chose to caption the photo in Hindi, “Ek mazboot dosti.”
Meanwhile, “robust ties,” according to Modi, were crucial for India’s relationship with the UK.
According to Live Mint, the free-trade agreement (FTA) negotiations between India and Britain were supposed to be finished by October 24 but were postponed because of a political crisis in the UK. India and Britain’s bilateral trade increased from $13.2 billion in 2020–21 to $17.5 billion in 2021–22. In 2021–22, India’s exports were $10.5 billion while its imports were $7 billion.
