News Mania Desk / Piyal Chatterjee / 13th September 2025

With effect from September 22, Hindustan Unilever (HUL) has reduced the cost of some popular consumer goods, such as Lifebuoy soap, Horlicks, Kissan Jam, and Dove shampoo. A 340 ml bottle of Dove shampoo would now cost Rs 435 instead of Rs 490, per a corporate ad that was printed in newspapers. 200 gm of Kissan Jam will now retail for Rs 80 instead of Rs 90, and a 200 gm jar of Horlicks is now only Rs 110 instead of Rs 130.

Additionally, the well-liked four-pack of 75 gm Lifebuoy soaps will now cost Rs 60 instead of Rs 68. According to HUL, fresh stock with an increased grammage or revised maximum retail price (MRP) is on its way to the market.

The move comes after the government mandated that companies publish newspaper advertisements to notify consumers about price revisions.
