How Mojtaba Khamenei avoided death and managed to flee just before the US-Israel strike

According to a report citing leaked audio from an internal Iranian meeting, Iran’s recently appointed Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei escaped death by seconds during the Israeli missile strike that killed his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, after leaving the compound just before the attack. 

The longtime Iranian leader’s Tehran compound was the target of an attack on February 28 as part of Israel’s Operation Epic Fury, which resulted in the deaths of several senior officials and family members.The Telegraph said that the audio leak includes statements made by prominent Iranian clergy and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commanders at a meeting on March 12.

“God’s will was that Mojtaba had to go out to the yard to do something and then return,” Hosseini was quoted as saying in the recording. “He was outside and was heading upstairs when they struck the building with a missile.”

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and numerous top commanders and family members were killed when Israeli Blue Sparrow ballistic missiles struck the compound shortly after he left, according to the account. According to reports, Hosseini informed the audience that the attack involved at least three missiles. The older Khamenei’s area of the compound was hit by one missile, and Mojtaba Khamenei’s upper-level home was damaged by another. His brother-in-law Misbah al-Huda Bagheri Kani’s house was struck by a third missile.The disastrous effects of the strike were also detailed in the recording. According to Hosseini, the attack claimed the life of Iranian military head Mohammad Shirazi and seriously wounded his body.

Mojtaba Khamenei escaped the attack with only a slight leg injury, according to the report. But Haddad, his wife, was promptly slain in the attack. Mostafa Khamenei, the late leader’s other son, and his spouse are said to have escaped the assault unscathed.

As rumors concerning Mojtaba Khamenei’s health and location have grown, the audio leak has come to light. Since the start of the fight, the new supreme leader has not been seen in public, which has led to speculation about the extent of his injuries.  Although these claims have not been verified, other stories have speculated that he may have sustained considerably more catastrophic injuries, such as the loss of a leg and significant internal damage.
