The United Nations has reported that nearly 700,000 people have been displaced across Lebanon as Israeli airstrikes intensify against positions linked to Hezbollah. The escalating conflict has triggered a severe humanitarian crisis, forcing hundreds of thousands of civilians to flee their homes.
Large numbers of displaced families have moved to temporary shelters, schools, and safer regions within the country, while humanitarian agencies warn that essential services such as healthcare, food supply, and electricity are under growing strain.
Amid the worsening situation, Lebanese President Michel Aoun has called for direct talks with Israel in an effort to establish a framework for long-term security and stability. He stressed the need for diplomatic engagement to prevent further destruction and protect civilian lives.
International observers warn that continued escalation could deepen the humanitarian emergency and destabilize the wider region, urging renewed diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions and restore peace.
