On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar, who had been admitted to New Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) earlier that day due to chest pain.
Wishing Dhankar a quick recovery, PM Modi took to X and said: “Went to AIIMS and enquired about the health of Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar Ji. I pray for his good health and speedy recovery.”
Dhankar was taken to the Critical Care Unit (CCU) of AIIMS at 2 am on Sunday after being brought to the hospital due to discomfort and chest pain. The 73-year-old is receiving care from Dr. Rajiv Narang, the Head of the Cardiology Department at the hospital, and his condition is said to be stable.
His health is being closely watched by doctors, and reports indicate he is currently under observation. Union Health Minister JP Nadda also visited the former West Bengal Governor to check on his condition.
