In Response To The Virat Kohli Vs. Sachin Tendulkar Question, Kapil Dev Delivers A Flawless Yorker
Indian cricket has advanced significantly. After winning the historic and unthinkable 1983 World Cup, the country underwent a shift in its sporting culture, and the minnows of the 1980s are today giants in world cricket across all formats, with BCCI being one of the richest cricket boards in the world. India has seen superstars dominate at the international level over the years and through several generations: Sunil Gavaskar in the 1970s and 1980s, Sachin Tendulkar and the Fab Five, and now Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. But what does the future hold? Kapil Dev, the captain of the 1983 World Cup-winning team, has a direct opinion.
However, the inquiry and Kapil’s response had very little in common. The former India all-rounder was questioned by Gulf News about the age-old argument between Sachin and Kohli over who is a better hitter. And in response, Kapil gave precisely the right yorker.
The Indian great said that while he might have his favorite, a superstar usually emerges from each generation. In his time, the best cricketers were Gavaskar, Sachin, and now Kohli. According to Kapil, the age after him will have better players.
Cricket fans all across the world have long been troubled and entertained by the Kohli vs. Sachin argument. During Kohli’s century drought between 2019 and 2022, it did tend to fade a bit, but it has since flared back up after the former India captain hit three ODI hundreds in his past six innings, putting him just three behind Sachin’s ODI century record.
