Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath claimed Saturday that the Congress and its INDIA alliance partners misled the public during the Lok Sabha elections “by spreading lies,” and that people now understand this, in reference to the BJP’s success in the Haryana assembly polls. Speaking to a crowd here, he also attacked the Congress and its allies in the INDIA coalition for the resolution that the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly passed calling for the reinstatement of special status.
“… The mandate of Haryana was a warning for the Congress-INDI Alliance. They misguided the people during the Lok Sabha elections by spreading lies. But now the people have understood that they are playing with the emotions of the people… The Congress-INDI Alliance got exposed when they passed a resolution in the J & K assembly, to restore Article 370,” he said.
In Uttar Pradesh, where the Samajwadi Party won the most seats in the Lok Sabha elections earlier this year, the BJP was unable to meet its expectations. BR Ambedkar never intended for Article 370 to be included in the Indian constitution, according to the Chief Minister.
“But Congress made it happen and the country had to pay the price for it by facing terrorism,” he said.
He said that Pandits from Kashmir were compelled to relocate. He claimed that the Modi administration had repealed Article 370 and was working to give people a sense of security. The third iteration of the National Book Trust (NBT) India’s Anushthan Gomti Book Festival 2024 was opened earlier in the day in Lucknow by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
