Indian National Stabbed To Death In Canada, Suspect Taken Into Custody

An Indian citizen was fatally stabbed in the Rockland region near Ottawa, the Indian Embassy in Canada reported on Saturday morning. As per the Embassy, one individual has been arrested.

As the specifics of the incident are pending, the Embassy has stated that they are offering all necessary support to the victim’s family.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic death of an Indian national in Rockland near Ottawa, due to stabbing. Police has stated a suspect has been taken into custody. We are in close contact through a local community association to provide all possible assistance to the bereaved kin,” the Indian Embassy in Canada wrote in a post on X.

Local news outlets indicated that one individual lost their life this morning in Clarence-Rockland, while another was taken into custody. Nonetheless, it remains uncertain whether this is the same occurrence mentioned by the Indian Embassy in its announcement. CBC News reported that the Ontario Provincial Police has alerted Rockland residents to anticipate a heightened police presence in the vicinity.
