Indians And Followers Of Khalistani Scuffle In A Canadian City On The Eve Of Diwali
Media sources claimed that on Diwali night, 400 to 500 persons battled in the Canadian city of Mississauga, during which one side waved the Indian Tricolor and others hoisted Khalistani banners.
According to a tweet from the Peel Regional Police, at around 9.41 p.m. on October 24, there were complaints of a brawl in the vicinity of Goreway and Etude drives.
The brawl reportedly started in a nearby parking lot, according to the police, who also noted that paramedics evaluated one male patient there.
According to the police, there was a huge gathering of people on October 25 who were yelling and screaming, but no large fight.
According to the Mississauga-based online news source Insauga, a video of the incident has gone popular on social media.
As fireworks can be heard in the background, the video shows two sizable crowds at a Diwali celebration being separated by Peel Regional Police officers. The area where the standoff occurred is covered in trash from what seems to be used pyrotechnics, according to a report from Insauga.
