International Yoga Day 2026 Celebrated in Vetia Gram Panchayat with Awareness on Child Protection

West Midnapore : In a well-organized event ahead of International Yoga Day 2026, Kharagpur Division’s Vetia Gram Panchayat, in collaboration with Anandateertha AYUSH Facility Centre, Midnapore, and the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, held a special program on Saturday. The event took place at Kellapratappur MSK and was attended by students, teachers, parents, local Panchayat workers, and public health officials.
Alongside yoga sessions led by instructor Pawan Rana, Supervisor at Railway and Child Helpline representative at DCPU Paschim Medinipur, the program focused on promoting health and wellness through yoga. Importantly, officials also highlighted child protection initiatives, informing parents about the toll-free Child Helpline number 1098 for reporting child-related issues.
Public Health Department Officers of Paschim Medinipur Zilla Parishad, Sajeed Ali Mondal and Dr. Vasudev Chakraborty H.M.O, were present to support the event and stress the significance of combining physical well-being with social safety measures.
The initiative aimed to encourage community participation in International Yoga Day while raising awareness of child rights and protection within the Gram Panchayat. Organizers expressed hope that such combined efforts would foster a healthier and safer environment for children and families in the region.
