Iran has experienced a series of anti-government demonstrations over the past few months, particularly in the wake of the death of Mahsa Amini, 22, who was killed for defying the nation’s Islamic dress code. Many women and activists across the nation were horrified by the occurrence while she was being held in detention before she passed away.
According to The Telegraph, Nasr-Azadani has been fighting for women’s rights in the nation and as a result, he has been given the death penalty.
Even the men’s national football team of Iran made a political statement before their opening match at the FIFA World Cup 2022 by remaining silent during the playing of their country’s anthem against England.
Between 2016 and 2018, Nasr-Azadani competed for the Persian Gulf Pro League team Tractor. The defender last participated in a professional game of football in November 2017.
