IVI has launched the eighth Young Leaders Program (YLP) 2023 for optometrists.
The inaugural talk, on ‘Leadership and Management’ was delivered by IVI’s CEO Vinod Daniel.
The YLP is supported by Hoya and will be organized from January to June this year.
Sanjay Tiwari, Managing Director, Hoya Lens India, also spoke to the participants at the inaugural session.
The eighth YLP saw interest from applicants from across India. Fourteen optometrists representing corporates, NGOs and institutions were selected to be part of this year’s program.
Mr Daniel said “A key objective of IVI’s Young Leaders Program is to nurture optometry professionals to help them take up a leadership role and for achieving excellence in eye care education and practice.”
“Optometrists are in the frontline of eye health and vision care and our program will aim to developing leadership skills, including provide the participants with mentorship and networking opportunities,”
Mr Daniel added.
Over six months through lectures and workshops, the program will cover people management, interpersonal skills, communications, soft skills in leadership, strategic leadership, systems thinking, the role of corporate social responsibility in eye care, leadership to advance optometry in India, entrepreneurship, change management, partnership building, networking, upgrading optometric education and research in India, and SDGs & eye health – UN Targets for 2030, informed Shri C.
