Lalita D’Silva, a distinguished caregiver known for her work with high-profile families such as Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, recently shared her experiences with the Konidela family in an interview with Hindi Rush. Currently employed to care for Ram Charan and Upasana Konidela’s daughter, Klin Kaara Konidela, Lalita provided a detailed account of her experiences and her views on her role.
In her candid discussion, Lalita described the Konidela family as exceptionally “warm and welcoming,” contrasting their hospitality with the star cultures of Mumbai and Hyderabad. She observed that while both cities’ elite families share a similar warmth, the Konidela family’s South Indian traditions influence their distinct dining habits. Lalita appreciated the family’s approach, which she found both refreshing and accommodating.
Lalita, who previously gained recognition as Taimur Ali Khan’s caregiver, expressed her preference for not being associated solely with that role. She praised the Konidela family’s genuine kindness and humility. “Everything about the Konidela family is very good. If I need to rest, Upasana madam takes care of the child,” she noted. Lalita highlighted that even while the family is currently in London, Ram Charan and Upasana are deeply involved in parenting, managing their responsibilities with hands-on care.
Her admiration particularly extends to Upasana Konidela, the chairperson of Apollo Hospitals. Lalita noted Upasana’s down-to-earth demeanor despite her prominent position. “Upasana will place her hand on my shoulder and ask, ‘Did you have your tea?’ The entire family is extremely normal. They don’t insist that you constantly care for their baby. They told me, ‘You’ve come from outstation, so treat us like your family,’ and now they are my family,” Lalita shared, reflecting the genuine warmth she has felt.
Lalita’s positive experience with the Konidela family contrasts with her previous roles, yet she finds a common thread in the warm and welcoming nature of the families she has worked with. Her comments offer insight into the kindness and down-to-earth attitudes of some of India’s most notable families.
Additionally, Lalita discussed the significant paparazzi attention surrounding Taimur Ali Khan, noting the intense public interest in Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s son. She compared this with the more controlled paparazzi environment in Hyderabad, stating, “I haven’t seen such a crazy crowd in Hyderabad as in Mumbai. The media can be intrusive there too, but it’s more manageable.” This comparison highlights the different challenges faced in managing public attention in various regions.
Overall, Lalita’s reflections underscore the contrasts and similarities in her experiences with high-profile families across India, offering a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes lives of some of the country’s most famous personalities.
