Delhi Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Date: Delhi being a union territory fosters home to only seven seats in Lok Sabha assembly, but being the capital of the country, it is marked as the display of strength among the parties contesting the General Elections
The General Elections of 2024, is in touching distance, the race for the majority has commenced between different parties under the banners of two giant coalitions, i.e., NDA (National Democratic Alliance) and I.N.D.I.A (The Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance).
While, the states with large number of seats like, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra and West Bengal, are going to be the centre of attraction for the upcoming elections, the union territory of Delhi, with only seven seats under its belt, holds the title of being one of the most important places during any General Elections, as claiming majority in Delhi, is more about display of the might than numbers.
Notably, It has been a trend that whoever wins the majority in the Delhi General Elections, goes on to form the government in the centre, for example, Congress-led UPA used to get a majority in Delhi and form government in the centre also, but in both 2014 and 2019, BJP-led NDA, swept all seven seats and eventually went on to form the government.

The General Elections for Delhi in 2019 were contested during the sixth phase, which was the second last phase of the General Elections of 2019, which is once again the case in the 18th Lok Sabha elections as Delhi is all set to open its EVMs and ballot boxes on May 25, i.e., in phase 6.

The ruling party of BJP, will once again be going alone and will contest on all the seven seats alone, while according to early reports, AAP and INC, will be contesting on four and three seats respectively, under the I.N.D.I.A alliance banner.
The Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have finalised their seat-sharing pact for the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi after several rounds of deliberations. Leaders from both parties confirmed that they had settled for a four-three seat-sharing formula, with AAP contesting four seats and Congress three. According to Congress sources, AAP has offered to fight on the South Delhi, New Delhi, West Delhi and Northwest
Delhi seats, bringing East and Northeast Delhi and Chandni Chowk seats to its fold. All seven seats in the national capital are currently held by BJP MLAs — each with over 50% of the vote share.

Delhi General Elections 2019- A Recap
The General Election of Delhi in 2019, saw the BJP making a clean sweep by winning all the seven seats, defeating the candidates from AAP and INC. BJP won a total of 56.9 percent of total votes, while INC and AAP, came second and third with 22.5 and 18.1 percent of total votes, respectively.
