‘Lumpen Elements’ Are Deployed By Trinamool To Disrupt A BJP Rally

Suvendu Adhikari, the leader of the opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, claimed on December 2 that the Trinamool Congress administration had sent out its lumpen forces to obstruct the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rally, which was set to take place at Diamond Harbour on December 3.

Despite the High Court’s order, the BJP leader claimed that the TMC is attempting to disrupt the rally and issued a threat that his party members would take to the streets on December 3 if this continued.

If the planned event is hindered in any way, Mr. Adhikari warned on Twitter that his party members will take to the streets on December 3.

In the meantime, the BJP has requested increased security from the Superintendent of Police, stating that TMC thugs are threatening their employees in Diamond Harbour.

On December 3, the Trinamool Congress was given permission by the Calcutta High Court to host a political rally close to the home of BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, the leader of the opposition in the West Bengal Assembly.

The state administration was also told by the high court to make sure that the laws are followed at the rally where TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee will speak.

Mr. Adhikari filed a petition with the high court to challenge the license given to host the rally at a location that is, in his estimation, roughly 100 meters from his home. He argued that this will disturb the tranquility in the neighborhood.

The public rally will now be addressed by both opponents in locations that are thought to be each other’s strongholds.
