A day prior, numerous vehicles en route to Prayagraj were halted in various locations across Madhya Pradesh, owing to severe traffic and to prevent overcrowding. The police, by stopping vehicular movement in different districts, urged individuals to seek safe shelter.

In the Katni district, police vehicles announced that traffic would be halted until Monday, while the Maihar Police instructed vehicles to head back to Katni and Jabalpur and remain there.
