Mass Gita Path session to be organized at Lal Chowk Srinagar J&K on 23rd June ’24 

 

A mass Bhagawat Gita Path session will be organized on 23rd June 2024 at Lal Chowk area of Srinagar in Kashmir.The program is being organized by a group of civil society members from Kolkata alongwith their Kashmiri friends from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Participants will include Kashmiri Pandits, members of Dogra , Punjabi and other communities. 

The day-long program is being organized by  Akhil Bharatiya Sanskrit Porisad , Matilal Bharat Tirtha Seba Mission Ashram , Helpage Bengal Education Mission under supervision of Sri Kavinder Gupta, former Mayor of Jammu, former Speaker and Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, industrialist Sri Basant Sethia   President, organising committee, Sri Manas Bhattacharya Cultural specialist  & others.

 Programs  in daytime will include installation of a statue of nationalist leader Dr. Shyamaprasad  Mukherjee at Lal Chowk area , Recitation of Maha Sibstotra at  Sankaracharya Hill , Puja at historic Martonda Temple .

In evening,  Arati will be performed in Dal Lake by Sadhus and 1000 people including visitors from Kolkata alongwith local people of J&K. 

Shri Basant Sethia  highlighted importance of Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee’s call ” Ek Desh Ek Nishan Ek Bidhan ” to promote integrity and unity of Bharat and his supreme sacrifice for Bharat Mata. 

On 23rd June 1953 , the great son of Bengal and iconic statesman of Bharat Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee tried to enter Kashmir without permit and sacrificed his life in Kashmir for unity of Bharat.  Shri Manas Bhattacharya organizer of the program informed  an all weather 4 feet statue of Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee will be installed & will be inaugurated  at Lal Chowk  to mark Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee’s historic efforts to unite the country. 

In effort to promote cultural unity of the country, a cultural presentation will be made by Sanskar Bharati Bengal unit under supervision of Sri Bharat Kundu alongwith

 Cultural presentation from local Kashmiri people.
