Meet Malvika Raj Joshi, an Indian genius who studied at MIT and was refused entrance to IIT.

Since childhood, Malvika Raj Joshi demonstrated remarkable talent in math and computer programming. Nevertheless, her path encountered an obstacle when she failed to meet the qualifications for admission to the esteemed Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

This was due to her not having completed the required class 10 and 12 board examinations essential for IIT admissions. Malvika serves as an motivational illustration of skill and perseverance. At only 17 years of age, Malvika’s remarkable talents were acknowledged by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the U.S.

She received a scholarship due to her accomplishments, especially her three medals from the International Olympiad of Informatics. These honors demonstrated her abilities and enabled her to skip standard educational prerequisites. Malvika’s learning journey was non-traditional. Supriya, her mother, chose to homeschool her once she finished seventh grade at the Dadar Parsee Youth Assembly School in Mumbai.

Supriya quit her position to create a customized curriculum for Malvika. Although she had no traditional schooling, Malvika thrived in programming and math.
