Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry and MCCI Ladies Forum (MLF) celebrated International Women’s Day

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) and MCCI Ladies Forum (MLF) organised a Motivational Talk by Ms Shivani Agarwal, Motivational Speaker, Mind Miracle Mentor & Transformational Coach on ‘Money EQ: The Hidden Psychology of Wealth’, TODAY (10 March 2026) at 3.30 pm at Park Hotel. The Motivational Talk was followed by Felicitation Ceremony ‘MCCI Women Achiever’s Award’.

Ms Priti A. Sureka, President, MCCI in her Welcome Addresssaid that in the world of business and finance, we often focus on numbers, strategies, investments and market dynamics. However, behind every financial decision, lies something far more powerful-our mindset, emotions, beliefs and attitudes towards money. Understanding this deeper psychological connection with Wealth is what truly shapes financial success and personal fulfilment.

Ms Shivani Agarwal said that that money is connected with the emotional health of people which is fragile.

Speaking at an interactive session on “Money EQ: The Hidden Psychology of Wealth” organised by the MCCI Ladies Forum on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Agarwal said that every individual has a personal relationship with money which has to be figured out. Whether money it is causing stress or calmness.

She said that the kind of experience a person while dealing with money is called ‘money wounds’. There is a need to have a healthy relation with money. Agarwal said a person’s relation with money could be strong, easy and abundance.

Agarwal said money is pure energy. The purpose is to grow the money. She said it is not necessary that a rich person does have a good relationship with money. Though rich, the person could be stingy. Here comes the emotional quotient (EQ) with money.

According to her, “Money is also looking for channels to do good for the society at large. Money does not belong to anyone, but given to him. So it is better to be humble with money”.

Agarwal said Gratitude, Grace, Growth and Generosity are associated with Wealth. It is better to use money for goods things.

Taking a culture from the Jews, she said that it is necessary to feel happy when other persons are progressing. This Jewish culture needs to be imbibed.

The motivational speaker said one person should be grateful when he or she gives something to the other.

She said practising Gratitude changes the energy of money. Quoting the Bible, she said showing Gratitude will lead to abundance. If Gratitude is not shown, possessions will be taken away from them.

MCCI and MCCI Ladies Forum on Tuesday conferred the ‘MCCI Women Achiever’s Award’ to five distinguished persons straddling across various sections of the society.The awards were given to Ms. Tanusree Shankar, eminent dancer and choreographer, Ms. Seema Sapru, principal of The Heritage School, Ms. Joita Sen, director and head of marketing of Senco Gold & Diamonds, Dr Pritee Ganatra, a certified medical practitioner of Alternative Medicine, Mr. Dola Banerjee, ace archer and Arjuna Awardee and Ms. Rochita Dey, Director of Sreeleathers Limited and founder of the House of SL.
