YouTube sensation MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson) has expressed apprehension about the growing influence of artificial intelligence (AI) on the platform, particularly regarding AI-generated videos. He cautioned that the increasing quality of AI-produced content could pose challenges for millions of creators who depend on YouTube for their livelihoods.

In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), MrBeast remarked, “When AI videos are just as good as normal videos, I wonder what that will do to YouTube and how it will impact the millions of creators currently making content for a living.. scary times.” His statement underscores concerns about AI tools like Sora 2 and Veo 3, which are capable of producing high-quality videos, potentially disrupting traditional content creation.

The launch of Sora 2, developed by OpenAI, has been met with mixed reactions. While it offers users the ability to generate videos using text prompts, images, and voices, critics have raised issues related to copyright infringement and the potential for misuse. Additionally, Meta introduced an AI-only feed on its platform, further emphasizing the growing presence of AI-generated content in the digital space.

Earlier this year, MrBeast attempted to integrate AI into his operations by introducing an AI-powered thumbnail tool on ViewStats, a platform he co-founded to assist creators. However, following backlash from the creative community over concerns about job displacement, he promptly removed the tool and redirected efforts to connect creators with human thumbnail artists.
