The ED has summoned Parvathi B M, wife of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, to appear on Tuesday regarding the MUDA land allotment scam. The Additional Director of the Enforcement Directorate, Muralikannan, has requested her to provide evidence and records.
Muralikkannan stated that he is examining the issue under the regulations of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002. He mentioned that he deemed Parvathi’s presence essential for providing testimony and for the submission of documents related to the inquiry or action under PMLA.
In the case regarding MUDA site allotment, there are claims that compensatory plots were allocated to Siddaramaiah’s spouse in a premium region of Mysuru, with a greater property value than her land that was “acquired” by the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA). MUDA assigned plots to Parvathi under a 50:50 ratio strategy in exchange for 3.16 acres of her land, on which it created a residential layout.
Under the debated plan, MUDA allocated 50 percent of the developed land to the land losers as compensation for the undeveloped land taken from them to create residential areas. It is claimed that Parvathi held no legal ownership of this 3.16 acres of land at survey number 464 in Kasare village, Kasaba hobli of Mysuru taluk. Both the Lokayukta and the ED are investigating the issue concurrently.
