National Day of Thailand celebrated by Royal Thai Consulate – General in Kolkata

Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kolkata celebrated National Day of Thailand on 4th December 2024.

National Day of Thailand is on 5th December 2024 . It is also known as Father’s Day in Thailand,
honoring His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great on his birthday on December 5th .
Every year United Nations celebrates World Soil Day in honor of Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand, who was a key supporter in the soil conservation initiative.

Consul General of Thailand Ms. Siriporn Tantipanyathep addressed the august gathering of invitees on the occasion of celebration National Day of Thailand .

CG Ms. Siriporn paid respect to late King Bhumibol Adulyadej as well as
current King Maha Vajiralongkorn ( King Rama X ) for his compassionate leadership who continued the legacy of his father through the royal initiative volunteer projects encouraging people of Thailand to unite in strength and solidarity and work together for the well-being of all.
Ms Siriporn highlighted long historical relationship between India and Thailand including the fact Thailand was amongst first few countries who recognised India and to establish diplomatic relationship. She spoke about shared heritage of Buddhism . She said Thailand also celebrate Holi , Diwali. She mentioned about Royal Consulate General of Thailand in Kolkata ‘s role in deeping ties between eastern states of India and Thailand by promoting trade , tourism, religion , cultural cooperation as well as people to people connect .
Ms . Siriporn highlighted in 2025 Thailand will be celebrating “Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year”
Consul General Ms. Siriporn highlighted the fact Thai
government is actively promoting hidden gem
destinations like Nan, Phrae, and Sakon Nakhon to
diversify travel experiences across the country. Consul General stressed on
Thailand’s soft power. She highlighted Thailand is promoting
the ‘Five-Must Do’ experiences – Must Taste, Must Try,
Must Buy, Must Seek, and Must See, that capture Thailand’s unique charms, encompassing Thai cuisine ,
fashion, vibrant festivals, and beautiful scenery.
Consul General mentioned about UNESCO ‘s recognition Tom Yum Kung in list of intangible heritage of humanity in early morning of 4th December 2024. Consul General Ms. Siriporn served Tom Yum Kung a culinary heritage of Thailand to the guests .
