NEET-UG 2024 Revised Scorecards Released Following Supreme Court Order: Number Of Toppers Decrease From 61 To 17

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued revised scorecards for the NEET-UG 2024 exam, effective Friday, in compliance with a Supreme Court order. Students can now retrieve their updated results from the official NTA website, exams.nta.ac.in.
The revision comes after the Supreme Court instructed the NTA to correct the results by retracting compensatory marks previously awarded to certain students. These additional marks were initially granted due to an error found in an old Class 12 NCERT science textbook, which affected a Physics question.
To access the updated scorecards, students should follow these steps: First, visit the NTA’s official website at exams.nta.ac.in/NEET. Next, locate and click on the notification for the revised scorecard. Enter your login credentials as required, and your updated scorecard will be displayed on the screen. Make sure to cross-check the details and download the scorecard for future reference.
The NEET-UG 2024, which took place on May 5 across 4,750 centres in 571 cities, saw over 24 lakh candidates. A re-examination was conducted on June 23 for 1,563 candidates who faced time loss during the original exam.
The release of the revised scorecards marks the beginning of the next phase in the NEET-UG 2024 process. The NTA will soon initiate the counselling process for the exam. According to the updated merit list, the number of candidates who achieved a perfect score of 720 has significantly decreased from 61 to 17. Furthermore, the cutoff scores for NEET-UG 2024 have been adjusted downward by two marks across all categories, reflecting the changes made following the court’s directive.
The latest results and adjustments are crucial for students as they prepare for the subsequent stages of medical college admissions. The revision underscores the importance of adhering to accurate examination practices and ensuring fairness in the evaluation process.
