New direction of higher education in biennial conference — Academia meeting organized by University Officers’ Association of West Bengal (WBUOA)

As an important step in shaping the future of higher education and research in the state, the University Officers’ Association of West Bengal (WBUOA) has started a two-day biennial conference and seminar at Kolkata’s Vivek Bhavan. The program started auspiciously by lighting the lamp at 11 am on Monday.
The active role of various units of WBUOA, especially the WBUAFS unit, is significant in the successful organization of this conference. It is the opinion of the organizers that collective planning, organizational skills and sincere efforts for the development of higher education have made this grand conference a reality.
The conference, held on March 28 and 29, brought together officials, academicians, scientists and researchers from various universities in the state to create an effective discussion platform. Current challenges in higher education, administrative modernization, quality of research and linkage of education with industry—all these important topics are discussed.
Attendance of dignitaries at the inauguration
Jadavpur University Vice-Chancellor Professor Chiranjeev Bhattacharya inaugurated the event. The vice-chancellor of West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Science was present. Tirtha Kumar Dutta and Calcutta University Vice-Chancellor Professor Ashutosh Ghosh.
Dr. was also present at the event. Keshav Chandra Dhara, former professor Punyendu Biswas, Registrar Partha Das, Dr. Jayant Kishore Nandi along with several eminent educationists and administrative officers.
