NIRF Rankings 2024: IIT Madras Leads Overall Category, IISc Bengaluru Tops University Rankings

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan released the highly anticipated NIRF Rankings 2024 on August 12, showcasing the latest evaluations of higher education institutions across India. The ninth edition of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) has revealed the top performers in various categories, reflecting the country’s leading academic institutions.

In this year’s rankings, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru has emerged as the top university, followed by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Jamia Millia Islamia, both located in New Delhi. The overall category, which assesses institutions across multiple disciplines, has been topped by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. IIT Madras also led the engineering category, further cementing its reputation as a premier institution in technical education.

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad has been recognized as the leading institution in the management category, demonstrating its continued excellence in business education. In the college category, Hindu College in Delhi has taken the top spot, while the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi has been ranked first in the medical category.

The top ten institutions in the overall category include:
