Only Rule of Law To Prevail In Bengal In Days To Come – Subhas Sarkar

“Nobody is above the law”- Subhas Sarkar, about the arrest of Anubrata Mandal.
National Bureau
The latest series of bigwig arrests in West Bengal has rattled the confidence of the ruling party in the eastern state. On August 11 or Thursday, Trinamool’s controversial leader Anurbrata Mandal was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in a cattle smuggling case after he had failed to appear for questioning before the central agency twice in three days.
Reacting to the arrest, Subhas Sarkar, Minister of State for Education, gave a cutting remark to News Mania.
“The latest arrest proves that no one is above the law and if somebody has done anything wrong, he or she would have to face the set provisions of law,” Sarkar told News Mania at his office in New Delhi.
In Bengal, the law would be upheld for all types of wrong doings or illegal activities in the coming days, he added.
Sarkar did not take the name of anybody but his remarks were understandable against the backdrop of recent series of arrests by the central agencies including the arrest of Partha Chatterjee, former education minister of West Bengal.
Enforcement Directorate arrested Chatterjee along with a close aide.
Now, after two back to back arrests of TMC bigwigs, it is time to see what else is going to unfold in days to come.
Also, who is the next to come under the net of central investigating agencies like CBI and ED.
Till then, wait and watch for us.
