Panchayat Season 5 confirmed for 2026 after Season 4 breaks franchise records

Prime Video and The Viral Fever (TVF) have confirmed that ‘Panchayat’ will be back for a fifth season, scheduled to launch in 2026. The choice comes after the extraordinary achievement of Season 4, which recorded the largest premiere in the series’ history. Released on June 24, the new installment has enthralled viewers both at home and abroad, solidifying the series’ status as a cultural phenomenon.

Manish Menghani, Director & Head of Content Licensing for Prime Video India, expressed delight over the show’s reception. “We are absolutely delighted with the phenomenal response to ‘Panchayat Season 4’,” he noted. The series was streamed in over 180 countries and appeared in the Top 10 Trending list on Prime Video across more than 42 countries on its launch day.

The broad attraction of ‘Panchayat’ reaches beyond India, as the show connects with viewers in regions like the USA, Canada, Australia, the UK, and the UAE. In India, it topped the charts and was streamed in 95% of the country’s postal codes during its first week. ‘Panchayat Season 4’, which launched on June 24, showcased Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, and more in key roles.

The show was created by Deepak Kumar Mishra and Chandan Kumar. It is co-directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and Akshat Vijaywargiya. India Today, in its critique of ‘Panchayat Season 4’, stated, “Besides Manju Devi, another character who stands out is Binod (Ashok Pathak). Pathak, who showed potential in earlier seasons, elevates his performance in this one. “Whether it’s feeling emotional during the election results, savoring dinner at Pradhan’s home, or asserting himself, he puts on an outstanding performance.”

‘Panchayat’ received the first Best Web Series (OTT) Award at the 54th International Film Festival of India in 2023. The record-setting achievement of the fourth season is included in Prime Video’s Prime Day 2025 offerings. Enthusiasts excitedly anticipate the upcoming installment in the narratives of the inhabitants of Phulera, scheduled to reveal itself in 2026.
