On September 16, India’s first Vande Metro service—which will now be known as the “Namo Bharat Rapid Rail”—between Bhuj and Ahmedabad was officially launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In addition, the Prime Minister signaled the start of several more Vande Bharat trains on the following routes: Durg to Visakhapatnam, Agra Cantt to Banaras, Nagpur-Secunderabad, Pune-Hubballi, and Kolhapur-Pune.
The 360-kilometer Ahmedabad-Bhuj Namo Bharat Rapid Rail service will make nine station stops and reach its maximum speed of 110 km/h in 5 hours and 45 minutes.
Every day save Sunday, Train No. 94802 Bhuj-Ahmedabad Vande Metro will leave Bhuj at 05.05 am and arrive in Ahmedabad at 10:50 am that same day. In contrast, Train No. 94802 Bhuj-Ahmedabad will leave Bhuj at 05.05 am and arrive in Ahmedabad at 10:50 am that same day.
In both directions, the train will stop at the stations at Sabarmati, Chandiodiya, Viramgam, Dhrangadhra, Halvad, Samakhiali, Bhachau, Gandhidham, and Anjar.
The Railway Ministry claims that the rapid rail has twelve carriages that can accommodate 1,150 passengers and is equipped with many cutting-edge features. “With ergonomically designed seats, fully air-conditioned cabins and modular interiors, it definitely proves to be superior to other metros.”
