PM Modi set to inaugurate the Yellow Line of Bengaluru Metro and a new Vande Bharat Express today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the highly anticipated Yellow Line of the Bangalore Metro and the Vande Bharat Express train connecting Bengaluru and Belagavi this Sunday.
He will also place the cornerstone for the Bangalore Metro Phase-3 initiative. According to the schedule provided by the Chief Minister’s Office, PM Modi will take part in three events during his almost four-hour stay in the city.
PM Modi is scheduled to arrive at HAL Airport here at 10:30 am. He will subsequently journey by helicopter and road to the KSR Bengaluru railway station, where he will inaugurate the Vande Bharat Express train between KSR Bengaluru and Belagavi.
He will additionally virtually inaugurate two more Vande Bharat Express trains between Amritsar-Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Ajni (Nagpur)-Pune
PM Modi will subsequently take a road trip to the RV Road (Ragigudda) metro station on the Yellow Line. From 11:45 am to 12:50 pm, he will be initiating the Yellow Line (reach 5) and riding the metro to the Electronic City station.
From there, PM Modi will head to the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Bengaluru, where he will lay the foundation stone for Bangalore metro phase-3, officially inaugurating the yellow line from RV Road (Ragigudda) to Bommasandra station, and address the audience.
He will subsequently take a helicopter to HAL Airport and return to Delhi at 2:45 pm.PM Modi’s office reports that the yellow line metro from RV Road (Ragigudda) to Bommasandra in the Bangalore Metro Phase-2 project has a route length exceeding 19 km with 16 stations, valued at approximately Rs 7,160 crore.
The launch of this yellow line will expand Bengaluru’s operational metro network to more than 96 km, benefiting a significant population in the area.According to officials, the yellow line is anticipated to alleviate traffic congestion in numerous densely packed corridors such as Hosur Road, Silk Board Junction, and Electronics City Junction.
The Orange Line, officially referred to as Metro Phase 3, is set to have its foundation laid by PM Modi and will be developed at a projected expense of Rs 15,611 crore.The overall length of the route in the project will exceed 44 km and will include 31 elevated stations. This infrastructure initiative will meet the increasing transportation demands of the city, serving residential, industrial, commercial, and educational districts.
Phase 3 will consist of two corridors: one from JP Nagar 4th Phase to Kempapura (32.15 km) and another from Hosahalli to Kadabagere (12.5 km)
