On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Spanish counterpart Pedro Sanchez will officially open the Tata aviation complex in Vadodara, Gujarat, which will be used by Tata Advanced Systems to manufacture C-295 aircraft. This will be India’s first private sector final assembly line for military aircraft, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Saturday.

Modi will also introduce development projects in Amreli valued at over ₹4,900 crore while in his home state. According to the PMO, the agreement calls for the construction of 40 aircraft at the Vadodara plant, with 16 aircraft being delivered directly by aviation giant Airbus. These 40 aircraft will be manufactured in India by Tata Advanced Systems, which will also be the country’s first private sector final assembly line (FAL) for military aircraft.

According to the statement, it will entail the full construction of a whole ecosystem, from the aircraft’s manufacturing and assembly to its testing and qualification, delivery, and maintenance. Leading defense public sector companies like Bharat Electronics and Bharat Dynamics, in addition to the Tatas, will support this initiative through private micro, small, and medium-sized businesses. In October 2022, Modi laid the cornerstone for the Vadodara final assembly plant.

The “Bharat Mata” Sarovar at Dudhala will be inaugurated by the prime minister in Amreli. The Dholakia Foundation and the state government worked together on this project using the public-private partnership (PPP) approach.

According to the announcement, the people of Amreli, Jamnagar, Morbi, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Junagadh, Porbandar, Kachchh, and Botad districts of the state will benefit from a number of rail, road, water, and tourism projects that Modi will launch.
