Putin’s Big Praise For PM Modi
According to Reuters, Russian President Vladimir Putin praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s independent foreign policy on October 27 during his annual speech to the Valdai Discussion Club, a think tank in Moscow. He also referred to him as a patriot of the nation and noted that a lot had been accomplished in India under his leadership.
The Russian president praised India’s transformation from a British colony to a modern state and said that its 1.5 billion people and tangible progress are causes for everyone’s respect and admiration.
He emphasized the bond between India and Russia even more, referring to it as exceptional.
Additionally, Putin emphasized that Prime Minister Modi had requested that he increase the supply of fertilizers, which is crucial for Indian agriculture.
Putin’s speech to the Kremlin-affiliated institute comes as Russia, more than eight months after beginning its invasion on February 24, continues to deepen the conflict in Ukraine.
In his well-publicized speech, he also criticized the West for engaging in dirty games to maintain its global dominance and expressed his conviction that sooner or later “new centers of power will emerge in the multipolar world and the West will have to start talking as equals about our common future.”
He did, however, add that the US and its allies are not immune to the results of their own deeds. During the discussion, Putin stated that the West cannot ignore the issues it has sparked.
He emphasized how western nations are plundering everyone, even themselves, in an effort to impose their ideals and worldview as universal.
